Savers Value Village, Inc.
A for-profit thrift retailer that runs thousands of secondhand stores under names like Savers, Value Village, and Village des Valeurs, selling donated clothing, shoes, and household goods across the US, Canada, and Australia. Founded in 1954 by Bill Ellison in a former San Francisco movie theater, the company buys donated goods from local nonprofit partners, giving those charities revenue to fund their programs. The chain uses different store names in different regions largely to avoid clashing with local thrift shops that already used the "Value Village" name.
