Radius Recycling Inc
A recycler of scrap metal and maker of new steel, Radius Recycling collects end-of-life cars, appliances, and machinery and turns them into fresh steel. Its Pick-n-Pull chain lets shoppers pull their own used car parts at self-service yards. Founded in 1906 by Russian immigrant Sam Schnitzer as the Alaska Junk Company—a one-person Portland scrap business he grew by carrying metal on his back—it later became Schnitzer Steel before rebranding as Radius Recycling in 2023.
