Arris Group Inc

A maker of broadband and video equipment that helped wire home cable internet, Arris is best known for its SURFboard line of cable modems — the boxes many people plug in to get online. It was founded in 1995 as a joint venture between Nortel and ANTEC, later absorbed Motorola's home gear business and British set-top box maker Pace, and was itself acquired by CommScope in 2019. The name "arris" comes from architecture, where it means the sharp edge where two surfaces meet.
