Genedx Holdings Corp
A genomics company that provides clinical genetic testing, GeneDx uses whole exome and whole genome sequencing to help diagnose rare and ultra-rare disorders, especially in children and critical-care patients. It was founded in 2000 by two NIH scientists, Dr. Sherri Bale and Dr. John Compton, and took its name from a shortening of "genetic diagnosis." After merging with Sema4 in 2022, the combined company renamed itself GeneDx Holdings in 2023 and even chose the stock ticker "WGS"—a nod to whole genome sequencing.
