A maker of digital marketing software, Semrush helps businesses, agencies, and marketers see how they rank in search, study rivals' keywords, and plan content and ad campaigns. Founded in 2008 by childhood friends Oleg Shchegolev and Dmitry Melnikov, it began as a Firefox extension called Seodigger before growing into one of the world's largest SEO platforms. The name comes from SEM, short for search engine marketing—and its Boston headquarters sits in the iconic Prudential Tower.
