Servicemaster Global Holdings Inc.

A provider of home and commercial services, ServiceMaster runs well-known franchise brands including Terminix pest control, Merry Maids house cleaning, and TruGreen lawn care. It began in 1929 when former minor-league baseball player Marion E. Wade started a moth-proofing business out of his Chicago home. After a chemical accident in 1945 left him temporarily blinded, Wade underwent a religious conversion and later named the company ServiceMaster to mean both "masters of service" and "serving the Master."
