Seventy Seven Energy Inc
A maker of oilfield services for land-based drilling and production, Seventy Seven Energy ran a fleet of high-spec drilling rigs, provided hydraulic fracturing and pressure pumping, and offered rental tools and trucking to exploration companies working unconventional plays in the US. It was born in 2014 when Chesapeake Energy spun off its oilfield services arm into a standalone company, and its name nods to 1977, the year Chesapeake's founders started the parent firm. After a 2016 bankruptcy and reorganization, the company was folded into Patterson-UTI Energy in 2017.
