Silk Road Medical, Inc.
A medical device company that pioneered TCAR (Transcarotid Artery Revascularization), a minimally invasive procedure for treating carotid artery disease and preventing stroke. Its ENROUTE system lets surgeons reach the blockage through a small neck incision—a shorter, safer route than the traditional approach through the groin. Founded in 2005 by a vascular surgeon and a business partner, the company takes its name from the historic Silk Road because its technique offers a more direct path to the artery. It was acquired by Boston Scientific in 2024.
