Silver Run Acquisition Corporation
A special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC — a "blank check" firm with no business of its own, created to raise money and buy an energy business. Sponsored by the private investment firm Riverstone Holdings and led by Mark Papa, the former CEO of EOG Resources, it went public in 2016 and that October bought a controlling stake in Centennial Resource Production, an oil and gas producer. After the deal it renamed itself Centennial Resource Development and began trading under the ticker CDEV.
