A gold and silver mining company that digs precious metals out of the ground across North America, running mines like Marigold in Nevada, Cripple Creek & Victor in Colorado, and Seabee in Saskatchewan. It was founded in 1946 as Silver Standard Mines, a silver-focused explorer, and renamed itself SSR Mining in 2017 as gold took center stage, then grew further in 2020 by merging with Alacer Gold. A fun quirk: its Seabee operation in Saskatchewan is the only active gold mine in the entire province.
