Sitio Royalties Corp.

A company that collected royalties on oil and gas without ever drilling a well. Sitio Royalties owned the mineral rights beneath land across the Permian Basin and other U.S. shale fields, pocketing a share of production whenever other firms did the drilling. It began in 2016 as Desert Peak Minerals and took the Spanish word for "place" as its name after merging with Falcon Minerals in 2022, before being folded into Viper Energy in 2025.
