Solar Senior Capital Ltd

A maker of loans rather than gadgets, Solar Senior Capital was a specialty finance company that lent money to private, mid-sized American businesses, typically by buying their senior secured loans. It began as a "business development company" in 2010 and was run by Solar Capital Partners, which was founded in 2006 by Michael Gross and Bruce Spohler. In 2021 the whole operation renamed itself SLR Capital Partners, and in 2022 Solar Senior was folded into its sister company SLR Investment Corp.
