A Houston medical-device maker behind the RESONIC handheld, which uses rapid acoustic pulses—high-frequency sound waves—to smooth cellulite and help lasers fade black-ink tattoos. Its name plays on the wave-like "soliton" concept, while the device's brand nods to resonance and sound. In 2021 the company was folded into Allergan Aesthetics, part of the pharma giant AbbVie.
