A clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company based in San Diego that develops immunotherapies for cancer, autoimmune diseases, and infections, using its own fully human antibody library called G-MAB. Founded in 2006 and later helmed by scientist Henry Ji, it also created the non-opioid ZTlido lidocaine pain patch through its Scilex subsidiary. Its name echoes the seaside Italian town of Sorrento, though the company has never explained the inspiration.
