Sprague Resources LP
A wholesale energy supplier based in the northeastern US, Sprague buys, stores, and delivers heating oil, diesel, gasoline, jet fuel, asphalt, and natural gas to municipalities, hospitals, and industrial customers, while running terminals that handle goods like salt. It grew out of the Charles H. Sprague Company, founded in Boston in 1870 to supply coal to New England. Fun fact: its story spans more than a century and a half, shifting from coal to the fuels and materials handling it does today, and it went public in 2013.
