A funeral and cemetery services company that grew from a New Orleans marble shop into one of the largest death-care providers in the United States. Albert Stewart founded it in 1910 after his real estate firm acquired the St. Vincent de Paul Cemeteries and their marble shop, which built monuments, crypts, and vaults. The family-run business operated funeral homes and cemeteries across the country until it was acquired by Service Corporation International in 2013.
