A cloud-software company that helps organizations make sense of the huge streams of "machine data" their apps and websites generate. Its Sumo Logic platform monitors log files, spots security threats, and keeps cloud applications running smoothly, so IT teams can troubleshoot problems and catch attacks in real time. Founded in 2010 by two veterans of the security firm ArcSight, the company takes its name from Japanese sumo wrestling—a nod to handling enormous, heavy amounts of data with strength and stability, fittingly symbolized by a wrestler in its logo.
