Suncoke Energy Partners, L.p.
A maker of metallurgical coke—the fuel that helps blast furnaces turn iron ore into steel—SunCoke Energy Partners runs cokemaking plants that supply steelmakers across the Americas. Its roots trace to the Sun Oil Company (later Sunoco), whose cokemaking operations were spun off and, in 2013, packaged into this master limited partnership. A fun twist: its ovens use heat-recovery technology that captures the baking heat to generate steam and electricity, so the same process that makes coke also makes power.
