Sunoco Logistics Partners L.p.
A midstream energy company that moved crude oil, refined products, and natural gas liquids through a network of pipelines and storage terminals, connecting production fields to refineries and market hubs. It was formed in 2002 when Sunoco, Inc. spun off its logistics assets into a separate partnership, and it traces its roots to the Sun Oil Company founded in 1886 by Joseph Newton Pew and Edward O. Emerson in Pittsburgh. The "Sunoco" name is a contraction of "Sun Oil Company," and in 2017 the partnership merged into Energy Transfer Partners, ending its run as an independent business.
