Supervalu Inc

A major American grocery wholesaler and retailer, Supervalu supplied thousands of independent supermarkets and chains with food and household goods, and ran its own store banners such as Cub Foods and Shop 'n Save. Its roots reach back to a Minneapolis wholesale grocery business founded in 1870, and in 1954 the company renamed itself Super Valu to link its distribution arm with the independent stores flying that banner. In 2018 it was acquired by United Natural Foods and folded into that company's distribution network.
