Tal International Group, Inc.
A lessor of the big steel shipping containers that move goods by sea and rail. Its roots go back to 1963, when Integrated Container Service began renting out intermodal containers and chassis; after passing through the Interway and Transamerica names, the business was renamed TAL in 2004 when a private-equity firm bought Transamerica's container unit. In 2016 TAL merged with rival Triton in a "merger of equals" that created one of the world's largest container leasing fleets, used by shipping lines and freight haulers worldwide.
