A go-between in the technology supply chain, Tech Data connects computer and software makers with the resellers and retailers who actually put PCs, servers, phones, and cloud services into customers' hands. It began in 1974 in Florida selling data-processing tapes and disk packs to hospitals and government agencies, then grew into one of the world's largest IT distributors. In 2021 it merged with rival Synnex to become TD SYNNEX — and its long-standing "TD" monogram quietly echoed its name the whole way.
