Telus Corp
A Canadian telecommunications giant, TELUS provides mobile phone plans, high-speed internet over its PureFibre network, and its Optik TV service to households and businesses across the country. It traces its roots to 1906, when Alberta took over Bell's local phone lines to form Alberta Government Telephones, which was privatized in 1990 and renamed TELUS. Though the name isn't an acronym, it echoes the Latin "tellus" (earth) and Greek "telos" (purpose) — a fitting nod to a company grounded in connecting people.
