Tencent Holdings Ltd.

A Chinese technology and entertainment giant, Tencent builds the super-app WeChat — used by hundreds of millions for messaging, payments, and mini-programs — along with QQ, cloud services, and hit games like League of Legends and Fortnite. Founded in Shenzhen in 1998 by Pony Ma and four co-founders, its first product OICQ was renamed QQ after a trademark clash with ICQ. The founder's nickname "Pony" plays on his surname Ma, which means "horse," while the company name Tencent (腾讯) translates to "galloping information."
