Atlantic Power Corp

A producer of electricity and steam, Atlantic Power owns and runs power plants across the United States and Canada, fueled by natural gas, hydro, and biomass, and sells to established utilities and large industrial customers. The company was shaped in 2004 specifically to buy a group of existing generating projects, yet it incorporated in Canada while keeping its headquarters in Dedham, Massachusetts. In 2021, private equity firm I Squared Capital bought the company and renamed it Atlantic Power & Utilities.
