A coffee and doughnut shop chain that has become a beloved part of everyday life in Canada, serving its signature "Double-Double" coffee, Timbits, sandwiches and baked goods at locations across the country. It was founded in 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario, by NHL hockey star Tim Horton, who opened his first shop to supplement his playing income. Fun fact: the famous athlete was actually born Miles Gilbert Horton — his mother always called him "Tim," and the name stuck on the storefront too.
