Time Inc
A magazine publishing house that grew from a single newsweekly into one of the world's largest media companies, Time Inc. put out titles including Time, Life, People, Sports Illustrated, and Fortune. It was founded in 1922 by Yale classmates Henry Luce and Briton Hadden, who launched Time magazine the following year. The name came from a Fisk tires subway ad reading "Time to retire?" — the founders had earlier considered calling it "Facts."
