Translate Bio Inc.

A maker of messenger RNA (mRNA) medicines, Translate Bio developed therapies that use mRNA to instruct the body's cells to produce proteins that treat disease, including a candidate for cystic fibrosis. It began in 2011 as RaNA Therapeutics, built on research from a Massachusetts General Hospital lab, and renamed itself Translate Bio in 2017 after buying Shire's mRNA therapy platform. The French drugmaker Sanofi acquired the company in 2021.
