One of the world's largest makers of solar panels, Trina Solar also produces energy-storage systems, solar trackers, and the raw wafers and cells that go into its modules, used by homeowners, businesses, and utilities worldwide. It was founded in 1997 in Changzhou, China, by chemist Jifan Gao, who started as a solar-system installer inspired by clean-energy gaps. The name "Trina" comes from the Chinese name Tianhe, meaning "harmony of heaven and nature," capturing a trinity of humanity, nature, and technology.
