Trine Acquisition Corp.
A special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) — a "blank check" firm with no operations of its own — Trine Acquisition Corp. was formed in 2018 by Leo Hindery Jr. and Pierre Henry to raise money and merge with a technology, media, or telecommunications business. In December 2020 it merged with Desktop Metal, a maker of metal 3D printing systems used by manufacturers to produce functional metal parts, taking that company public. The name "trine" comes from the Latin for "threefold."
