A major American audio company that operates radio stations across dozens of media markets, plus a digital platform for streaming, podcasts, and live news. It began in 1968 when lawyer Joseph Field, convinced FM would overtake AM, bought three FM stations in San Francisco, Houston, and Minneapolis under the name Entercom. The company merged with CBS Radio in 2017 and rebranded as Audacy in 2021 — a name chosen for its echoes of "audio," "audacity," and "odyssey."
