A maker of networking gear for homes, businesses, and internet providers, Ubiquiti builds Wi-Fi access points, routers, and switches under its UniFi and AmpliFi brands. It was founded in 2003 by Robert Pera, a former Apple wireless engineer who left to boost Wi-Fi range for rural areas after his bosses ignored his idea. The name plays on "ubiquitous," meaning everywhere.
