A specialty beauty retailer that packs cosmetics, fragrance, skincare, and salon services from both mass-market and prestige brands under one roof. Founded in 1990 by a former pharmacy executive, it started life as Ulta3, the "3" standing for a third shopping option between drugstores and department stores. Its loyalty program counts tens of millions of members, and it has expanded into the U.K. through the Space NK brand.
