Vwr Corporation
A global distributor of laboratory supplies, VWR outfits research labs, pharmaceutical companies, and universities with everything from glassware and chemicals to safety gear and instruments. Its roots trace to 1852, when a California gold-seeker named John Taylor gave up prospecting and instead began selling glassware and chemicals to miners and labs. The VWR name comes from Van Waters & Rogers, the Seattle chemical firm founded in 1924 by George Van Waters and Nat Rogers.
