Valspar Corporation

A maker of paints and coatings whose roots reach back to an 1806 Boston paint dealership, Valspar is best known today as a flagship paint brand sold at Lowe's. The name came from a 1903 clear varnish — the first wood coating that stayed clear when exposed to water — and the company adopted it in 1932. Sherwin-Williams acquired Valspar in 2017.
