A real estate investment trust that owned and leased commercial properties across the United States, Vereit Inc was formed in 2014 when American Realty Capital Trust rebranded under a new name. The company's portfolio spanned retail, office, and industrial properties leased to tenants on a net-lease basis, where tenants cover most property costs. In 2021, Vereit merged with Realty Income Corporation, one of the country's largest net-lease REITs.
