West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd.
A maker of softwood lumber and wood panels—from dimensional framing lumber and plywood to oriented strand board (OSB) and fibreboard—used by builders and contractors across North America and Europe. It began in 1955 in Quesnel, British Columbia, when three Ketcham brothers pooled their money to buy a small planer mill. The company took the name West Fraser in 1958 because its timber came from forests west of the Fraser River, a name adopted company-wide in 1966.
