Axiall Corporation
A maker of chlorovinyl chemicals and vinyl building products, Axiall produced chlorine, caustic soda, PVC, and siding and piping sold under the Royal Building Products brand. The company was formed in 2013 when Georgia Gulf merged with PPG Industries' commodity chemicals business, adopting the invented name "Axiall" after a five-month branding campaign by employees from both firms. Its roots trace to a Georgia-Pacific chemical plant purchased in 1984; Westlake Chemical absorbed Axiall in 2016.
