Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc.
A hotel franchising company, Wyndham licenses more than two dozen lodging brands — including Days Inn, Ramada, Super 8, and Travelodge — to independent hotel owners across dozens of countries, making it one of the world's largest hotel franchisors rather than a chain that runs its own properties. The Wyndham name dates to 1981, when Dallas real estate developer Trammell Crow founded the brand and reportedly named it after Wyndham Robertson, a friend who had written a profile of him for a magazine. Since 2018 many of its chains have carried the "by Wyndham" suffix to tie them together.
