Youku Tudou Inc
A Chinese video streaming platform behind the Youku and Tudou apps, where people watch TV shows, films and user-made clips. Youku launched in 2006, founded by Victor Koo, while Tudou — Chinese for "potato," a playful nickname for people who uploaded videos — began a year earlier; the fierce rivals merged in 2012 to create Youku Tudou, and e-commerce giant Alibaba later took a controlling stake.
