Zhongpin Inc

A meat and food processor based in Henan, China, that made chilled and frozen pork, sausages, meatballs and other prepared meats, plus fruits and vegetables, supplying supermarkets like Carrefour and fast-food chains such as McDonald's across China. Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Changge, it built a cold-chain logistics network that carried goods "from farm to fork." It listed on the U.S. Nasdaq under the ticker HOGS — a cheeky nod to the pigs behind its business — before going private in 2013.
