A provider of email encryption and security software, Zix helps organizations send encrypted messages and guard against phishing and data loss. Founded in 1996 in Dallas, Texas, it originally built handheld wireless email devices before pivoting to the security software it is known for today. The company was long known as ZixIt Corporation before shortening its name to Zix.
