Zumiez Inc

A specialty retailer that outfits skaters, snowboarders, and surfers, Zumiez sells action-sports apparel, footwear, and gear—including skateboards and snowboards—under its own stores plus the Blue Tomato and Fast Times banners. Founded in 1978 in Seattle as a shop called "Above the Belt," it refocused on action sports a decade later. Its odd name came from co-founder Tom Campion, who wanted a word starting and ending with Z and liked the sound of "Zumiez" while reading about the Zuni tribe.
