Jardine Strategic Holdings Limited
An investment holding company at the heart of the Jardine Matheson group, it held strategic stakes in some of Asia's best-known businesses, including Hongkong Land, the Mandarin Oriental hotel chain, and the DFI Retail grocery and convenience-store group. Its roots trace to 1832, when two Scottish merchants, William Jardine and James Matheson, founded a trading house in Canton, China, dealing in tea and other goods. The firm was folded back into its parent in 2021, ending its separate listing.
