Ultrapar Participacoes SA
A Brazilian holding company behind some of the country's best-known energy brands, Ultrapar runs Ipiranga fuel stations, the Ultragaz bottled-gas business, and the Ultracargo liquid-storage terminals. It began in 1937, when Austrian immigrant Ernesto Igel started delivering household bottled gas in São Paulo, naming his pioneering venture "Ultragaz." The "Ultra" family name still ties the group together today.
