Compañía Sud Americana De Vapores S.a.

A shipping company that traces back to 1872, when two Chilean steamship lines merged in the port of Valparaíso. Its Spanish name means "South American Steamship Company," and its founders of Scottish descent began a tradition of naming vessels after Chilean rivers, starting with the ship Copiapó. Recognized as Latin America's oldest shipping company, it is today a principal shareholder in the global container carrier Hapag-Lloyd.
