A maker of recreational vehicles for land and water, BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products) builds the Ski-Doo snowmobiles, Sea-Doo personal watercraft, and Can-Am vehicles that riders and boaters enjoy around the world. The company traces back to Quebec inventor Joseph-Armand Bombardier, who founded a snow-vehicle firm in 1942 and introduced the first Ski-Doo in 1959 — a name born from a typo, since the machine was meant to be called the "Ski-Dog." BRP became an independent company in 2003.
