A global financial services firm headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, offering investment banking, corporate banking, and private wealth services to companies and individuals around the world. Founded in Berlin in 1870, its name literally means "German Bank" — it was created so German firms doing international trade no longer had to rely on British and French banks. Its Frankfurt headquarters, a pair of identical towers, is nicknamed "Debit and Credit" by locals, after the two sides of every accounting entry.
