A French services giant that feeds and maintains workplaces for offices, schools, hospitals, and stadiums, running cafeterias, catering, and facility upkeep through brands like The Good Eating Company and its Sodexo Live! events division. Founder Pierre Bellon started it in Marseille in 1966 after predicting air travel would shrink his family's ship-supply business. The name Sodexo is a play on its original "Société d'Exploitation Hôtelière," and its first big break was a contract with France's atomic-energy research institute.
