A pharmaceutical company best known for Botox, the injection used to smooth wrinkles and treat migraines, muscle spasms, and overactive bladder. Founded in 1948 in Los Angeles by pharmacist Gavin S. Herbert, Allergan started with allergy and eye-care medicines before acquiring the rights to Botox in 1989. The company was later bought by AbbVie in 2020.
